Looking Between Blurred Lines
It's been around for an age, but it just doesn't seem to want to go away. "Blurred Lines" by Robin Thicke features Pharell and rapper T.I. and is now in it's 7th week in the UK charts, after moving back up to the number 1 over the weekend.
So what's it most famous for? Well, despite that controversial music video (we didn't dare upload it to here), it is in all honesty, an annoyingly catchy song. "what rhymes with hug me?". Wow.
Maybe you didn't know, but Robin Thicke has been a huge artist over in the States for a long old time. His album, "The Evolution of Robin Thicke" really bought him to prominence, but "Blurred Lines" has given him the real tools to smash the UK charts.
Let's face it, you've heard "Blurred Lines" more often than you've had hot dinners over the past few months, so here's a Robin Thicke tune we've dragged out of the archives- just so we all know, the kid isn't a one trick pony.
So that's Robin dealt with. But what about Pharrell Williams? We all know him by different names: Pharrell, Skateboard P, SK8BRD- it's madness and slightly depressing to think that the singer come rapper turned over to the grand old age of 40 this year. Starting off as a producer as one half of the Neptunes, Pharrell has performed solo, and with his band N.E.R.D., having his hand in some of raps biggest songs.
Most recently, Pharrell has written soundtracks for one of the biggest animated films in recent years- Despicable Me. Check out his track from the latest film. If this doesn't put you in a good mood then not much will...
Finally, we can't ignore the rapper in the corner, just because he's wearing his shades inside, can we?
He's never going to be everyone's cup of tea, but T.I. has been a cornerstone of the American rap scene for a long old time. Recently known over here for collaborations with the likes of Justin Timberlake and Rihanna, one of his biggest hits came in the form of "Live you life". Enjoy...
