6th November 2015 | Posted in Womens & Winter Fashion by H. Simpson

A new season, a new trend. This winter, we can expect to see lots of capes, ponchos and throws! Whether you choose something sleek and demure such as the Ted Baker Vickiye, a quality made garment from Gloverall or something chic and 'just thrown on' from Barbour, it's certain to say a cape will keep you warm whilst looking the part. Jump on the trend bandwagon and add a cape to your winter wardrobe...

Ted Baker Vickiye Minimalist Cape

Ted Baker's cape offers a dose of sophistication and class with it's superb cut and deep navy colourway. Formed from a luxurious cashmere-wool blend, the Ted Baker cape is secured by a metallic metal bar that has been engraved with Ted Baker branding. This style of cape is to be used as an outdoor coat and should be paired with a sleek designer bag such as Michael Kors or Ted Baker.

Barbour Lifestyle Nebit Cape

This slouchy poncho-style cape oozes rustic appeal with it's autumnal colourway and signature tartan print. The tassled edging adds detail to the oversized roll neck poncho, whilst adding a unique touch on the classic cape. This item is available in one size fits all and so the fit will be designed to look big and baggy, placed over an outfit. Dress the mocha coloured poncho with colours that are displayed within the tartan print.

Michael Kors Turtle Neck Textured Poncho

A similar style to the Barbour cape, the Michael Kors poncho has been constructed with a textured Alpaca-blend knit and ribbed roll neck design. Wear with a long sleeve top for a great form of layering or wear alone with skinny jeans and knee high boots. The knitted poncho is finished with a small silver metal piece of hardware to the back of the neck, engraved with Michael Kors branding.

Gloverall Cape Jacket

Gloverall pride themselves on their British heritage roots and in particular the Duffle coat. This season, Gloverall have jumpeed on the cape bandwagon and released this Cape Jacket in 'oyster' (off-white) and 'silver' (grey). Using the same detailing as the Duffle, the jacket uses large toggle fasteners and features a hood for that unpredictable weather! Similar to the Ted Baker Vickiye Cape, the Gloverall jacket is worn over the head and features split sleeves offering an oversized fit.

Michael Kors Faux Fur Cape

This luxurious piece is great as faux fur is very on trend right now. The rich chocolate brown colour is perfect for matching with hues of crimson, cream and gold; creating a fabulous colourwheel of a breezy Autumn day. The smooth, short hair of the faux fur adds softness and means the cape is lightweight which is ideal for layering. Simply add a long sleeve shirt under the designer cape and complete the look with a Michael Kors bag. The faux fur cape would also look great on a night out layered over a simple black shift dress and heels - Christmas party, eat your heart out!
