Spring Layering

19th May 2015 | Posted in Womens & Summer Fashion and Accessories by H. Simpson

For the warmer months, simple layering within an outfit can be dead easy. Simply choose your outfit and add a layer of clothing over the top - it's that simple. Have a look at the following examples:

This Barbour selection is comprised of seasonal garments that will take you from day to night. The look incorporates warm, Autumn inspired colours using basic garments - a jumper, t-shirt and pair of shorts. Hoodies and sweats can also be used and the t-shirt can even be swapped for a denim shirt, with the collar showing to the top of the jumper, forming an extra dimension to the look.

Layering can be easily done by use of a blazer. This simple trick can update almost any look to create a smarter, more formal style. Maison Scotch are the go-to brand for all variation of blazer, whether it be a sharply cut number for an authoritative, power look or a casual, relaxed fit jacket that adds character and interest. It's interesting to see how easy you can transform the look of an outfit, simply by adding one item.

For the warmer season, add a lightweight layer such as a loose, lace patterned top or a fringe trimmed kimono - very in this season. Layering can even be done by accessorising, adding such items as jewellery, bags or belts. A big trend for the summer will be 'folklore' inspired with lot's of lace, fringing, crocheted and bohemian style items, so pile on that chunky, statement jewellery with a plain outfit to master this look in a simple yet unique way.
Layers can create looks that differentiate from others and enable you to make 'your own'. The Maison Scotch Biker Wrap Cardigan is loosely fastened at the top, draping down to an open middle, whereas the Maison Scotch Drapey Blazer is a loose fitting polyester jacket that would look perfect layered over a basic top and finished with a long chain necklace.
Alternatively, for a warmer method of layering, The North Face 100 Masonic Fleece can be worn underneath a jacket for an extra warm and cosy inner in those colder months.
