Women's Product Focus: The Barbour International Camien Parka

13th October 2014 | Posted in Womens by Hollie Simpson

Barbour International's Camien Parka is a waxed mid length jacket that offers a vintage style of look. Resembling something out of Quadrophenia, the Camien Parka comes complete with a vintage Union Jack lining and retro Barbour badge detailing on one pocket. The jacket also boasts a detachable fur trimmed hood and an inside drawstring waist to create a feminine, fitted shape. Its rustic qualities come from the retro subculture influences of the mod era. The mods were fashion obsessed with a distinctive dress sense, favouring sharp, clean cut tailored garments and throwing on a military inspired Parka over the top to protect their carefully chosen ensemble whilst driving their scooters.

Barbour are famed for their classic waxed cotton designs, constructed to form a sturdy, everlasting, weather repellent jacket. Parkas have been a popular form of jacket in recent times, with both sexes opting for this style to create an indie inspired, tomboy look; a look that is replicated by many at festivals throughout the UK. Another jacket of similar style is the Superdry Microfibre Snorkel Jacket

For the standard festival look, wear with shorts, an Aztec printed top, trusty pair of Hunters and lots of statement jewellery! Alternatively, for a country inspired look, wear with skinny jeans, a chunky cable knit and leather ankle boots from J Shoes.
