The Soundtrack To Your Weekend

21st November 2013 | Posted in Music

First things first- happy chuffing weekend.

You know the deal; we put together a lovely little track list for you to enjoy all weekend, so press play and find out some of the best songs so far this year.

Did we miss something? Don't be boring and keep it to yourself, tweet us @masdings and we'll see if we can make amends if the song you suggest is worthy (Absolutely no One Direction or Miley Cyrus rubbish, thank you very much).

1) Daft Punk-Get Lucky feat Pharrell- Like every good song, the radio killed this come back track from French boys Daft Punk, by deciding to over play it, relentlessly. Thankfully they've kind of let it rest for now though, so we can all slip back in to enjoying this track for what it is: a pretty damn decent feel good song.

2)Icona Pop- I Love It- This song got plastered all over an annoying advert for a ruddy long time. You know the one. As a result, it became one of the biggest songs of the Summer, leading to half the nation humming or singing it whilst out in public...you know what you did. Don't do it again.

3) Disclosure-White Noise feat Aluna George- The track that bought Disclosure to everybody's attention, it somehow manages to make Aluna George sound like a very small child at the beginning. That alone is a fantastic achievement.

4) Duke Dumont- Need U 100%- Need you 100%- because you'd feel pretty deflated if Duke Dumont only wanted you 85%.

5) Bauuer- Harlem Shake- Not much needs to be said about this. Literally, we're not even gonna bother.

6) Avicii v Nicky Romero- I Could Be The One- These two did pretty well for themselves this year, didn't they?

7) Lana Del Ray-Summertime Sadness (Cedric Gervais Remix)- Lana Del Ray is pretty much perfect, but useless on a Saturday night, so thanks to Cedric Gervais for giving one of our favourite tracks off her album a good old kick up the arse.

8) Macklemore-Can't Hold Us- Coming off the back of Thrift Shop, this track still made some pretty big waves thanks to its pretty dancey bass line. We like Macklemore. We like this song. It's damn good. However, if you have any idea what this video is about (other than Macklemore becoming some form of pirate?), then please let us know. Thanks.

9) Rudimental- Waiting All Night- Drum and Bass Barry. That's what we'd call ourselves if we made music like this. (Not saying this isn't good, just saying yano, that'd be a daft name if you were going to sing it).

10) Calvin Harris-I Need Your Love feat Ellie Goulding- WO, WO, WO. These two are having a GREAT time in this cheeky video- kind of feel like a third wheel here... awkwarddd.

11) One Republic-Counting Stars- Change of tone but it's still damn good considering it's fairly new this year- we're glad to see One Republic back. You can't deny, that chorus is damn catchy.

12) Passenger-Let her go- HOW DEPRESSING.

There you have it, an amazing playlist that got its vibe ruined at the bitter end. We're so sorry.
