Gone is the sun and gone are the flipflops! In their place say hello to chunky knits and winter boots. Every girl has a pair of boots for the winter, its the law, no matter what the style. Boots have become a staple piece in the Winter wardrobe for many years now and each year brings with it new styles and shapes. Whether it be knee high, ankle boots, Uggs or a pair of Hunters, the crowds on the streets will be flocked with boot clad women everywhere this Winter. Here we have a pick of our best new season boots from the likes of Ted Baker to Ugg to Vivienne Westwood...
This version of the Ugg has a very Wintery feel. The fur trim and the tassle detail are bang on trend and Uggs are again going to be massive this year. Choosing a pair of Uggs is a hard decision as they last so long so you'll still be wearing them a few years later; therefore picking the perfect pair can be difficult, especially as this season there's so many to choose from...
These boots have a masculine biker feel but also have feminine features about them such as the thick, flat laces and the criss cross lace feature towards the top of the boot. These are really great for a quirky feel and would look great over skinny jeans and a black top such as one of these. Flat knee high boots are great in that you can dress them up to go out or dress them down and wear them for everyday use. As long as you look after them and keep them clean, you can alternative between using them for day and night. See how these boots can be incorporated into a biker outfit here.
These are really classy boots. Not generally ones for wearing on an everyday basis, I'd save these for a nice dressed up occasion, especially as they're suede. I'd wear them over skinny jeans, leggings (such as the Religion Ash Leggings) or very skinny trousers like French Connection's Judy Jeggings. Even though they don't have a heel, I like that they're still smart. Black and gold together establish this classy look - they're great christmas colours too!
Whether it be a pair of ankle boots you opt for or knee high, these ankle boots are cute and versatile. When it comes to Winter boots, I believe its best to have a faithful pair of Uggs for casual days and a small pair of ankle boots for the times you want to dress the outfit up. Though they have a heel, its a small one that wouldn't start making your feet hurt throughout the day and the fold over top is an added feature that gives the boot definition. Though I always say that black goes with everything, I do really like the chestnut and tan colours in boots and bags.
I'm liking this black version of the Ellee boot, especially as the chestnut version has been featured a lot in previous blogs. Cosy and snug, the advantage of these are that because they're black, they're less likely to get dirty or marked and the obvious - they'll go with everything! This Winter, there's going to be lots of fur about. Like last year's influx of fur coats, faux fur will be back so getting a pair of Uggs with a fur trim would be ideal. Pair this with a Ted Baker Karah hat for some fur frenzy!
I love these Protection 2 boots. They remind me of the Lady Dragon shoes but in boot form. They're totally different to other boots and rather unique which is what Vivienne Westwood aims to create in her products. A modern cowboy style, Vivienne has teamed up with Melissa shoes to create an environmentally friendly, comfortable yet stylish designer boot. Definitely on my Christmas list.
Usually, new season Hunters mean a new colour is brought out or have a slightly different style. But these have a checked pattern on the back and have a total country feel to them. There are a few Hunters available at the moment that are quite different to the original block of colour such as the Balmoral Westerley and the Sandhurst Savoy. Which do you prefer?
As I've said before, Dr Martens are going to be big this Winter. Still not sure? Go for the less masculine ones; this tan pair can be very versatile. Wear them with leggings or skinny jeans but definitely add a tan bag to the equation too, just to create a fashionable match without thinking its too much. They're not to everyone's taste but they certainly have the cool factor.
