Winter Warmers

Have you noticed how freezing it is today? Yes us too! This calls for the top winter warmers to be announced! As in chunky knits! Have you gotten a lot more tired lately due to the change in weather? Us too and all you want to do when you wake up in the morning is throw on your chunkiest jumper out of your wardrobe. Well here are a few suggestions of some of our best chunky knitted winter warmers we have in at the minute; check out Maison Scotch's quirky detailed numbers or chunky cable knits from the likes of Superdry and Barbour...
I'm loving cable knitted jumpers this season and there are four in this hand picked collection. This grey Barbour version is a really nice simple sweater with a flattering fit. Barbour are known for their coats and jackets so why not try one of their jumpers? Known for their warmth, durability and ability to fend off harsh weather conditions, Barbour have built up a trusted reputation in recent years.
I chose this as its quite unusual and different. The cardigan fastens across at the top which will make it even warmer! I love leopard print, its a classic style that never seems to go out of fashion. I don't expect anything different from Religion in terms of the unusual style of the cardigan. Nothing out of the Religion range is ordinary, bog standard or plain, each design is unique and has a dark tone to it. A lot of designs feature skulls and crosses and the long running theme is a sort of haunted look. I love this look, its very in right now and even more so with Halloween coming up!
Another jumper by Maison Scotch that's a little bit different. The design is only on the front, whereas the back is just a plain black. I'd wear this with skinny jeans and a pair of black Uggs.
I love this peplum style jumper for various reasons. 1) its another cable knit and 2) the style is so flattering. The jumper is tight fitted and the peplum at the bottom completes the look by creating a large outwards frill. I originally had my eye on the ivory version, but now I can't decide between that and the grape! This would look great for a special occasion, I'd wear it on a night out with a black skirt, heels and a clutch bag. Towards the snowy months, I'd add a pair of tights.
The best features of this chunky knitted jumper are two trends we've had of recent times. The zip detailing on the sides of the jumper and the flash of neon colour pop on the front design, both of which make the knit different and distinguished.
This can be worn several ways; it could be worn as it is or over the top of a top. I personally would wear it over the top of a long sleeved top such as the French Connection Winter Poly Top in black. The fitted style of the black top and the looseness of the Optic Gina would work really well. I also really like the added detail of the statement zip at the back.
This cardigan looks so cosy and it just looks really smart unlike some cardigans. Again, more zip detailing (spot a big trend here?) which just adds a spot of edginess to an otherwise straightforward knit. What else is great about this is the button fasteners are hidden and discreet so worn done up, it could get away with looking like a jumper but I think it'd look best worn undone with a cute top underneath!
This looks so warm and cosy! Very Christmassy! Another cable knitted jumper, only this time longer so it could even be worn with leggings. I'd accessorise this up with silver accessories as purple and silver really compliment each other (especially for Christmas!)
Superdry have got a really good range out for Winter this year. Plenty of cable knits, fairisle patterns, fur trims and the usual hoodies (see top pic)! This one is my absolute favourite. The knit is proper chunky and a rich cream colour. The thickness of the knit as well as the clingy roll neck equals guarenteed warmth! The cosiest cable knit we have, it would look ace with a maroon coloured skinny jean and a pair of chestnut Uggs or even better...the popular Java Grandle Boot!
