English Country Heritage Chic

3rd October 2013 | Posted in Womens & Winter Fashion by H. Simpson
What do you think about when you hear the words 'English countryside?' Tweed, olives and browns, rain, checked prints, foxes and horses? Well, we have rain; check and now we have all the new season Barbours and Hunters; check, check, check! Lets dress British countryside...

Jackets

Think Burberry's country style campaign and think the Royals in the countryside...

If your looking for a more quirkier Barbour jacket than the standard wax or quilted, the Dentdale jacket is a great choice. The Dentdale jacket is big and oversized and resembles a shooting jacket. The bonus is that even though its a fabric feel, it also has a waterproof finish over the top ensuring this is also weatherproof.

This blazer is definitely has a country feel to it. This needs to be worn with skinny jeans, a top and either flats or ankle boots which can be seen in the outfit of the week this week. The blazer is quite fitted and can be left open or buttoned up. Also loving the country feel of the horse lining which has been designed by British designer Emily Bond.

I think this is my favourite Barbour we have in at the minute. A traditional parka complete with a fur trimmed hood, parka's aren't just for festivals, they're going to be big this season. Olive also looks great with gold colours- great for Christmas coming up! Parkas are a great coat choice, a non fitted style so it won't matter how much you eat at Christmas, the parka is cool enough to just be thrown on.

Footwear

The latest footwear from the king's of boots; wear for practical use or to get ahead in the fashion stakes...

The Balmoral Westerley is a welly and a fashionable boot. Though not the rubber welly feel, the boot is totally waterproof and has Sympatex lining that also ensures total comfort inside the boot. If your that fashion conscious when going to a festival, etc. then these are great. The look would be great with tan accessories and fringed tops for a slight boho look. Alternatively, they'd look just as good worn over skinny jeans and a cable knit jumper for every day wear as these look just like an ordinary pair of knee high boots.

You'd be surprised to learn that these are actually Ugg. This rainboot is again, waterproof but styled in such a way that can also be seen as fashionable. Great colour for the country theme, these would also look good over skinny jeans this winter, especially in the snow!

The original style with no frills, the matte black are my favourites. Particularly because they 1) go with everything and 2) because as they're plain and simple, you can jazz the rest of the outfit up. Also to complete that quintessential British look, we don't want hot pinks and purples thrown into the equation. Stick with the traditional blacks, browns, creams and olives.

Accessories

Being in Britain, its always going to be cold, therefore we need some protectors...

You know what Uggs feel like to wear? Well imagine this comfort on your hands! That's right, fur lined! These also come in a chestnut colour and also feel the same as the outside of a pair of Uggs! The Bailey button is a nice touch to the gloves, I particularly like the Bailey button on a proper pair of Uggs as well.

Complete with Barbour branding, I thought I'd throw these in there to go with the best of British theme, especially with the checked design.

These are the most stylish gloves out of the three. Featuring Ted Baker's classic bow feature, the best thing about these gloves is that even though they look a classic driving glove, they have been modernised to keep up with the 21st century and enable you to type on your phone or Ipad screens whilst still wearing them! How handy!

Yes we're in England and yes it rains! We always need an umbrella at hand! (I even needed one on the way to work this morning!) What better brand than the experts in waterproof: Hunter!

A hat has got to complete the look, especially this fur one from Ted Baker. Seeing as the weathers terrible here, a hat like this should be essential to keep warm, as well as looking ace! Obviously, they'll only suit certain people but they look great with hair down, a nice lipstick and knee high boots. Try it!
