We'd love to tell you that you need to be getting hold of as many pairs of shorts and sunglasses right now because the next few months are going to be a SUPER HUMAN HEATWAVE, but sadly, we're not the type to tell bare faced lies.

Sadly, it appears that Summer is well and truly done, and it's now time to kiss goodbye to the sun loving side of your wardrobe. But hey, don't be sad. At least we actually had a Summer this year.

Time to crack on and move with the times, so with the weather getting colder, and the nights getting darker (eurgh) we've picked out some tasty examples of one of our favourite pieces of clothing for this time of year-the long sleeve shirt.

Feast your eyes on these beauties- they all feature a pattern that is bang on trend, and perfect for wearing alone on a boozey night out or layering up with a decent jacket.

Here's a funky start, thanks to some hedonistic design from Farah and Anerkjendt.

Left: Anerkjendt Matti Star Print Shirt- We loved this shirt the moment it got dropped in store. With its heavily contrasting buttons and eye catching star print, it's perfect for a Saturday night out and is sure to turn a few heads.

Center: Farah The Upton shirt-This shirt makes the balance between bonkers and boring seem effortless. With a subtle print to keep you looking on trend, this shirt also comes with a button down penny collar.

Right: Farah The Huxton Shirt-If there was ever a remake of Jurassic Park, we'd be gutted if at least one of the cast didn't wear this shirt. It's the most attention grabbing shirt in this line up- leaving your style looking anything but extinct.

Feeling a touch more toned down? Check out these floral based offerings from Anerkjendt, Armani Jeans and Pearly King.

Left: Anerkjendt Matti Grey Shirt-A nice mix of tonal grey makes this shirt by Anerkjendt a great casual option. It's a touch heavier than most of the other shirts too, making it perfect for when the cold weather hits.

Center: Armani Jeans U6C37 Patterned Shirt-Need something a touch dressier for a smarter occasion but don't want to go through the same old boredom of check, striped and plain shirts? We've taken this corker of a shirt from Oxygenclothing.co.uk. This could well be the answer to your smart dress dilemmas, thanks to a classy tonal pattern and contrast buttoning, making this shirt by Armani stand out without screaming down the room.

Right: Pearly King Turbo Floral Shirt- From one of the best smart shirts, to one of the best casual looks, this Pearly King shirt is ideal for wearing out on the town. Lightweight and fitted, the little details like the denim trim make this shirt that little bit more special.

In every other situation, repetition is enough to drive anyone crazy- but not here, with this repeat pattern shirts.

Left: Vivienne Westwood Anglomania Two Button Western Cord Shirt- This is another little gem we've pinched from Oxygenclothing.co.uk. It's cool, they know we're up to no good. We love this Westwood shirt- it's got a strong heritage vibe thanks to the over sized collar, and cord finish. Chuck on some Vivienne Westwood Orbs and you've got a shirt that's sure to be a lady killer.

Center: Ben Sherman Paisley Pattern Shirt-Ben Sherman shirting is back to its very best, bringing a heavy dose of nostalgia with it. We're a sucker for a classic, so a when a Great British brand like Ben Sherman chuck a paisley pattern on one of their world famous shirts-well. We're on it.

Right: Lacoste L!ve CH0829 Shirt-The last thing we're going to pinch from Oxygenclothing.co.uk (honest). This shirt by Lacoste's lairy cousin, Lacoste L!ve is set to give your casual style a twist of on trend design.

Everyone loves a good polka dot, and we're no different, with some slick offerings from Paul Smith and Fred Perry

Left: Fred Perry Micro Ring Pattern Shirt- Throwback time. This ring pattern is a bit reminiscent of a 1970's Hackney social club, and we're mad for it. With a slim fit, it's a proper homage to mod style; just what Fred Perry do best.

Center: Fred Perry Polka Dot Shirt- Another slim fitting slice of class style delivery, this Fred Perry Polka Dot shirt is perfect for that awkward smart/casual event you've got coming up. With a button down collar, it'll work perfectly with raw jeans and shoes.

Right: Ok so we stole one more shirt from Oxygenclothing.co.uk- but this Paul Smith dip dye polka dot shirt isn't on just yet- so watch this space for a link!
