Films Of The Future

25th July 2013 | Posted in Film & Cinema by H. Simpson
Insidious Chapter 2: Due for a release in September this year, the last film left us with an ending showing the father of the boy now possessed and killing the medium. Starring the same cast as before, the film will pick up where the last one left, again delving into that 'other world'. Many people believed this was the scariest film they had ever seen but I thought it was badly made and boring! Independence Day 2: Don't really see where they can go with this, have another repeated, disastrous independence day? Well one things for sure, Will Smith will not be returning to the 2015 film. Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa: Another film from the usual set of Jackassers including Johnny Knoxville, Steve-O and Wee Man! Set to be released this year. I'm sure we can expect more of the usual pranks.

Last Vegas: A different take on The Hangover films, this film stars 4 legendary actors in the form of Robert DeNiro, Michael Douglas, Morgan Freeman and Kevin Kline as one gets married so they decide to have the stag party in Las Vegas, cue mishaps along the way. Sin City: A Dame to Kill For: Really excited about this one as I love the first. Starring the same cast plus more, the story will also explain how some characters came to be in the first. Although won't be the same without the late Brittany Murphy, I'm hoping this one is as good as the last. This is due out August 2014. Paranormal Activity 5: Being released 2014, the successful horror series is back once again. You'd have thought people would have got bored long ago seeing as its the same concept every time, but adding new twists is keeping the audience wanting more. The Lego Movie: Yep that's right, they're doing a Lego movie. This will be animated and include some of Lego's most popular figures. The story will focus on one Lego figure in particular being wrongly recognised as the key to saving the world from their enemy tyrant. Voices will include those of Will Farrell and Liam Neeson. Due out next year. 300: Rise of an Empire: A busy year for Frank Miller, due for release in early 2014, the film now takes place out at sea. This will also be available in 3D. Stretch Armstrong: Did anyone used to own a Stretch Armstrong? This is being made into a film due for release early next year. Unexpectedly, the film will not be animated, but the Stretch Armstrong character will be turned into a man called Lucas Armstrong. This is going to be made into a gritty action film chronicling the problems he has to face after undergoing a transformation granting him superhuman abilities.

22 Jump Street: Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill are back in June 2014. Who knows where the second instalment will take them. Fast & Furious 7: Going to be set in LA once again where the first film of the successful franchise started. I think every one of them have been good so far, so why not carry on the saga? Unlike Tokyo Drift, all the original stars are back again. Released July next year. Fifty Shades of Grey: This has been greatly anticipated by women all over the globe due to the fact that its rare if someone hasn't read at least one of the books in the trilogy. Not really sure how they're going to go about this film, with its raunchy scenes. The author of the book is producing this with 2 others so maybe it won't be too dramatically changed from the book like other films normally are. August 2014 is when it'll come on our screens. Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Another addition to the popular Disney saga, Johnny Depp will once again become Jack Sparrow in July 2015. The films have earned over $3.7 billion at the box office worldwide. Finding Dory: A very long awaited sequel to a very popular Disney film. Taking place a year after the first film, set along the California coastline This isn't out until November 2015 though! Trolls: Not due out for another 3 years, this story of the popular children's toy will be turned into a big scale musical and be about how the trolls came to get their colourful hair. Trolls were originally made by a woodcutter who couldn't afford to give his daughter a present at Christmas and so carved her a Scandinavian troll. Robocop: Based on the original film and set in the year 2028. A regular cop gets injured in the line of duty and is saved by the science of robotics. He now has new abilities, but faces problems he's never had to endure before. Terminator: If they're going to do a remake of Robocop, they've got to do Terminator too! Not due out until 2015, the full trilogy will be remade. Anchorman: The Legend Continues: This Christmas, Anchorman will return and I'm guessing back with it, its one liners. Will Ferrell and Steve Carell will return to the film that made them a household name. Will it live up to the first?

Despicable Me Minions: All kids are going mad about Despicable Me 2 at the minute. A spin off from the characters of despicable me is due out December 2014. James Bond 24: The next James Bond instalment is the 24th film in the series. MGM's aim is to release a Bond film every two years starting from 2014. I wonder who will be the Bond girl this time.
