As you may be well aware, Avicii is currently number 1 in the charts with 'Wake me up' which is currently the fastest selling single of the year. At just 23, the Swedish born DJ has in the last year taken the world by storm. I actually heard on the radio the other day that he now demands between 500,000 and 1 million per booking. Not suprisingly for a DJ in such demand and currently number 3 of DJ Mag's Top 100 DJ's of the world. Its taken a good time and effort though for him to get where he is now. He started out mixing in his bedroom until his friends encouraged him to post his stuff on music blogs where he gained a bit of a following including the likes of Tiesto and Pete Tong. With a bit of help from both of these, giving him residency in Ibiza and various nights, Avicii was born. What you may not know is that the song 'Seek Bromance' by Tim Berg is actually Avicii. Going off his real name Tim Bergling, this song was a huge hit globally.

He sought real recognition as Avicii when he released 'Level's just after Flo Rida had brought out 'Good Feeling' so this was still fresh in everybodies head. I actually thought that Flo Rida must have sampled it off Avicii's song however its actually that they both sampled the same gospel song from 1962; 'Somethings Got a Hold On Me' by Etta James.

Avicii then brought out Silhouettes which in my personal opinion is just as good. I saw Avicii last year at Creamfields and he played both these songs at night in the rain just after he had brought them out and at Electric Daisy festival at the weekend he was one of the main headliners. His single with Nicky Romero basically solidified the fact that he was here to stay. This was huge at the beginning of the year. His new single sounds a bit like a barn dance. Its not my favourite but seems to be everyone else's! Here's the video to make your own mind up...
