Winter Styling

18th September 2011 | Posted in Mens
Keeping looking rugged and ready; no matter what the Great British weather throws at you, is often something that can be incredibly hard to master without venturing into the scary world of macs and wellingtons. However, do not fear! As the weather begins to turn, we at will in turn, make you into a weather proof fashion icon! One key trend for the coming winter is the hiking boot. Chunky and well soled, this new addition to your wardrobe will soon become not just a favourite choice of footwear, but also a valuable ally in your fight against the winter months. We recommend the H by Hudson Cajon Boot, the Lyle and Scott Mid Top Boot, and the Luke Baldini Boot to start off your rugged winter look. Don’t be afraid to add some thick winter socks into the equation. Put the socks on your feet, tuck your trousers into your socks, tuck your feet into your boots, simple, authentic, and warm (yet very cool). With the massive influx of chinos this summer, it is all too easy to forget about the old faithful denims you chucked to the back of the wardrobe as soon as the sun showed up. However, now is the time to rescue your lost denims from the dark of your cupboards. Basic, plainer washes are best saved for a smart/casual occasion this winter, with jeans featuring abrasions and unique washes matching up well with the rugged work wear look. We recommend the Diesel Larkee 8B9 jean, or the G-Star Arc with a Cote Wash. Any jean with washed out denim will work well for this look. Finally, finish your look with a bold printed jumper. Contrasting colours are a must to allow for a distinctive image. We recommend the Franklin and Marshall Multi Pattern Crew Neck Jumper. Layer over a t-shirt or a plain shirt and wear a plain jacket over the top to keep the attention on the jumper’s pattern. A Barbour Liddesdale quilted jacket or the Paul Smith Donkey jacket would be ideal. RJG
