Despite the American nature and influence of the company name, Franklin and Marshall is a true Italian brand with its founders originating from the country and designing the garments there. The brains behind the label were two Italian friends and vintage fashion enthusiasts Giuseppe Albarelli and Andrea Pensiero who toured Europe upon leaving college looking for design inspiration and influence from the various fashion markets. Upon visiting a vintage fashion fair in London they found an old sweatshirt emblazoned across the front with the words Franklin and Marshall, the name of an American College. They fell in love with the design and decided to base a fashion label around the concept. Twelve years later and the company is now one of the most popular fashion labels around the world.
